October update from Mowesi Marshgate

Self-confessed “wool-aholic” Adelheid Jenkins has an entire garage full of wool and an elegant wooden spinning wheel, and she is all set to go! This creative lady is in love with wool: sheep wool, goat wool, camel hair, alpaca…. you name it, she has spun it and knitted it into something beautiful.

Adelheid, who lives at Trelash, arrived with a mountain of fibres, some beautiful woollen items and her wheel to show the Mowesi Marshgate what she does in her spare time. After having lunch with the Mowesi – who are now a lunchtime WI – she talked about her passion and how she fell in love with wool.

After her talk, at the Mowesi’s October meeting, Adelheid invited the members to come and try their hands at using the spinning wheel – which she made look very easy. In our picture, Adelheid (left) teaches a member how to spin.
