Christmas is coming to Boscastle, with the village’s annual Christmas Lights Switch-On taking place on Friday 27 November 2026.
Shops around the village will be staying open until 6pm, giving everyone an opportunity to shop locally and enjoy the start of the festive season before gathering for the main event.
From 6pm, the Boscastle Buoys will provide the musical entertainment ahead of the Christmas lights being switched on at 6:30pm. The evening will then continue with Christmas carols led by the children of Boscastle School.
Free shuttle bus
A free shuttle bus will run to help people get around the village and support local shops.
Services will leave the Doctors’ Surgery at 4:30pm, 5pm and 5:30pm, travelling via the junction of Green Lane & Pentargon, junction of Trefleur Close and Langfords Meadow.
A return journey will leave the car park from 7pm.
Shop Local Bingo 2026
There is another reason to explore Boscastle’s shops and businesses this year, with the return of the Shop Local Bingo Card.
Complete activities on the card during the evening and collect individual Christmas stamps as you go. Complete four in a row — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — and take your card to Cornish Stores to claim a free drink and mince pie (one per card).
Complete the whole card for a BLACK OUT and submit it at Cornish Stores to be entered into the draw for prizes from local businesses.
Activities range from visiting participating businesses and the Boscastle School table to riding the shuttle bus, wearing your Christmas jumper or hat and supporting local businesses on social media.
The evening is presented by Boscastle CIC, with support from the Boscastle Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
Come along, enjoy the lights and music, explore the village and support Boscastle’s local businesses as we begin Christmas 2026 together.
