On 12th December this year, and for one night only, a professional production of A Christmas Carol will be performed at the Village Hall. This one-man show by Guy Masterson, has received many 4 star and 5 star reviews over the years and the performance here in Boscastle falls between nights at the Theatre Royal in Bath and prior to a Christmas run in New York at the off-Broadway Soho Theater.
Dickens’ novella of A Christmas Carol was one that he performed himself as a reading many, many times and who does not like a Christmas ghost story! This version was adapted by Nick Hennegan and has been performed by Guy across the world. For this performance, we also plan to have mulled wine and mince pies available to help bring you some early Christmas spirit.
Guy Masterson is a multi-award winning writer, director and performer whose accolades include an Olivier Award. Recently, he has directed “The Shark is Broken” in both the West End and on Broadway and has many years of experience directing and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe. In 1994 he undertook the first one-man version of “Under Milk Wood” which went on to over 2,000 performances around the world and followed this with a one-man “Animal Farm” which became the most successful solo show in the English language at the time.
This amazing show is being brought to you by BAD Company (Boscastle Amateur Drama) as part of a plan to start bringing more theatre, both local and professional, to Boscastle and local audiences.
