We were paged on the 22/11/2023 to a dog that had gone over the cliff, near to Trevalga, North Cornwall.
Initially the owners were trying to self rescue the dog in question with their own bit of DIY rope rescue kit, and we can’t stress enough, we are trained and ready for incidents like this and have found more and more over the last few years that members of the public are resorting to self rescue and dangerous measures, before they call the coastguard. On this occasion the dog had a lucky escape and fell to a ledge that was picked up by a Boscastle CG cliff technician and returned to a very grateful owner.
We know this is a sensitive subject, but we like followers to keep negative comments to themselves, as this post is just to make people aware of our capabilities, and not to risk their lives and call us straight away.
