Cormac are writing to let everyone know that they will soon be carrying out the desilting of the culvert at the back of Marine Terrace, on behalf of the Environment Agency. Taking place on Tuesday 17th September, this maintenance work is essential and requires a vacuum excavator to be brought up Old Road and stationed by Marine Terrace, whilst the work is underway.
Between 7am and 5pm, there will be a parking restriction from the telegraph pole by Frogapitts on Old Road, to the telegraph pole H118 at Marine Terrace. This will enable traffic to pass by whilst the work is carried out, without the need for a full road closure.
If you or anyone you know usually parks on Old Road, they request that you do not park in this section between 7am and 5pm on Tuesday 17th September. Signage and cones will be in place and everyone’s co-operation will enable them to complete the work and move away as soon as possible. If all goes well, they will be finished before 5pm and the restrictions lifted. Vacuum excavation can be a little noisy but as they explained, the work is essential, and they will do our very best to keep disturbance to a minimum.
