We have been made aware of an incident in the east of Cornwall, where someone gained access to a patient’s home by pretending to be a healthcare professional called Jerry, who said he was from the local surgery. He may have called beforehand to arrange the home visit.
We want our patients to be aware and to be vigilant in checking and ensure you always ask for ID before letting someone in your home, and ensure that people are who and what they say they are.
