At the Annual Parish Meeting held on Thursday 27th March, Forrabury and Minster Parish Council was proud to present this year’s Community Awards, recognising the outstanding individuals who have made a lasting difference to our parish.
The Community Award scheme is designed to shine a light on those who go above and beyond—giving their time, effort, and care to help others and to protect and enrich the place we all call home. This year, five nominations were received, each one reflecting the incredible community spirit that exists across Forrabury and Minster.
Following careful consideration by the Awards Committee, two recipients were selected for the 2024/25 awards:
🌟 Jeff Cherrington was recognised posthumously, following his passing earlier this year. As Lead Ranger for the National Trust, Jeff played a central role in caring for our landscape—but it was his instrumental work in the regeneration of Boscastle after the 2004 floods that left an enduring legacy. His work brought together ecological restoration, community resilience, and deep respect for heritage, helping shape a safer and stronger Boscastle.
🌟 Michael Parsons was honoured for over 22 years of dedicated service as Chair of the Trustees for Boscastle Village Hall. His leadership and long-standing commitment have ensured the hall remains a welcoming and vital space for the whole community.
Both recipients were warmly acknowledged at the meeting, and we extend our deepest thanks and congratulations to them and their families.
