Local residents have recently raised concerns to the Parish Council about persistent parking issues at the Potters Lane junction with Tintagel Road. Cars parked directly opposite the junction are making it difficult—and in some cases, impossible—for vehicles to safely turn in or out, especially for larger vehicles or during busy periods.
In response, the Parish Council placed ‘No Waiting’ cones opposite the junction ahead of the Easter holidays to help alleviate the problem. Longer-term solutions are being explored, including the introduction of double yellow lines, which will be considered at the next review of the parish’s Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).
In the meantime, we kindly ask all motorists to be mindful when choosing where to park. Parking opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction is not only inconsiderate—it’s also advised against under the Highway Code (Rule 243). Doing so can obstruct visibility and hinder the safe flow of traffic.
