We had our annual visit from the RNLI Beach lifeguards visited when they talked to the children all about how to be safe when in and around water.
Strings Assembly
After over 20 years of music tuition at Boscastle School we were sad to say goodbye to Barbara Degener, as she is now retiring. Barbara has taught many children to play the violin and cello, and helped to foster a lifelong passion for music.
We hugely value music at Boscastle and Barbara has been an important part of our music offer for so many years. We’re so grateful for Barbara’s unwavering commitment and enthusiasm, so many of our children have benefitted from her musical expertise and she’ll be really missed by us all here at Boscastle.
A message from Barbara
Thank you so, so much for the beautiful send off yesterday. I knew why I kept my professional functioning (40 years of practise) in place and didn’t read the messages from the children until I got home. To have a card from every single child is just another reminder how wonderful the school is and I am so glad that Mavi started his education there. And so is he! The flowers are beautiful and I’ll find a nice place for the peony in the garden, now I’ve got time to diminish some weeds and make some space.
VE Day
We celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE day with 1940s games in the playground and cakes which the children really enjoyed.
