Sports Day
Congratulations Team Jordan, our winners in a very close competition with just 11 points difference in the final score! Many thanks to our families who donated cakes and sweet treats, and as always, to our School Association for organising refreshments at the end of a busy afternoon, which were enjoyed by everyone, especially the ice lollies!
Brass demo
We were pleased to welcome music teacher, Jim Vincent (from Cornwall Music Service Trust) who came to visit this week to introduce children to the trumpet and trombone. Class 2 enjoyed a P Buzz session where they learnt to play a tune on the P Buzz instruments as an introduction to playing the trumpet. Jim was overwhelmed by the number of children who were keen to do a ‘try-out’ and following the visit a few children have now started lessons with Jim.
Deli Farm Run
Max, Otis and Lucas took part in the Deli Farm Cross Country Run at the end of May, competing against children from other local schools.
Well done to Otis who came an impressive 2nd place!
Performance at Hall for Cornwall
James performed at the Hall For Cornwall last, playing his guitar in a lovely concert with lots of children and their teachers coming together to celebrate 10 years of Cornwall Music Service Trust. No photos were allowed inside but here’s James at the stage door!
Adventure Bude Residential Trip
Our Key Stage 2 children had an amazing time at the adventure centre in Bude. They took part in a range of outdoor activities including; high ropes, caving, kayaking, surfing and mountain boarding. They also enjoyed the evening entertainments of football, fancy dress disco and karoke. For some children it was their first trip overnight away from home without their parents, the older children along with the school staff and the centre instructors all provided reassurance so everyone had a fantastic time. The children all returned home very tired but happy and they’re looking forward to the residential trip again next year!
Valley Vibes
We were blessed with a warm sunny day for our school festival, Valley Vibes. Children, staff and their families all enjoyed a lovely day of creativity with crafts, story telling and music performances by some of our children, staff and ex-students. Many thanks to everyone who kindly contributed to make it a great day!
