Meeting Items
- Car Park – Toilets – CIC has contacted the Cornwall Council portfolio holder about the previous removal of the car park levy. The parking order will not be amended this year.
- Highways – The state of the road under the trees at Newbridge remains a concern. Clerk will write to the Highways Manager to request a site meeting for the stretch between Fore Street/High Street crossroads and Water Pit Down crossroads.
- Civil Emergency and Contingency – No updates.
- Play Area – Monthly inspection passed. RoSPA inspection report was positive; only concern remains the junior multi-play tower. The damaged rocker has been repaired and is ready for reinstallation.
- Castle Site – Monumental Project – Clerk to chase installation date for interpretation board.
- The project team did not inform the school about their open day; around 20 attended. Monthly inspection: Bin is full (Clerk to arrange emptying), grass is recently cut. Meadow Area – Access is now overgrown, preventing inspection. Clerk will ask the knotweed contractor for a long-term maintenance recommendation.
- Works Around the Village – Cllr Costello successfully used the Cornwall Council ‘Report It’ tool and encouraged others to do the same. Contractor reported significant dog fouling issues, particularly at Paradise Triangle. Cllrs Smith and Hitchman-Smith will reach out to local residents interested in helping maintain the area.
- Playing Field – Dog Fouling – Inspections continue every Friday lunchtime before school use.
- Grants & Donations – £250 awarded to Sir James Smith School for a sensory garden project, intended to create a safe, calming, and skill-building environment for students.
