Finally, a mystery which has plagued the hearts and minds of Boscastle residents for years has been solved. For avid readers of the Boscastle Blowhole, the crossword included in each issue provided a welcome distraction from the hustle and bustle of village life and teased our brain cells back into action on sleepy mornings. With a long wait for answers — necessitated by the quarterly publication schedule — patient readers pondered their solutions, debated them among friends, and occasionally engaged in friendly competition to see who could complete the latest issue’s puzzle first.
However, with the Blowhole’s final edition of Winter 2022, Steve’s Winter Crossword left us all only partially satiated in our puzzling fix, the answers having never been published — until now. For those of you who have pushed the crossword itself from your mind to spare yourself the torture of unsolved clues, or have temporarily misplaced your (no doubt framed) copy of the beloved publication’s final edition, here is the crossword itself, in all its glory:
