Boscastle Coastguard was among the rescue teams called out over the weekend to assist in a major overnight operation south of Bude.
Two teenage boys became stuck on a cliff late on Saturday evening. What followed was a challenging three to four-hour rescue effort, involving teams from Boscastle, Bude, and Falmouth Coastguard, alongside the Newquay helicopter and Devon and Cornwall Police.
With darkness adding to the complexity, a combination of rope access and helicopter support was required to bring the teenagers to safety. Both were successfully airlifted in the early hours of Sunday morning.
This incident is a timely reminder to always take care near the cliffs and coastline, particularly as summer brings more visitors to the area. If you ever see someone in difficulty on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard immediately.
