In June 2025, Boscastle Harbour became the stage for a major training exercise involving the UK Coastguard and the Fire Service. The exercise tested how both services work together in response to a large-scale incident.
The scenario involved a mock explosion on a vessel, with multiple simulated casualties needing triage and first aid treatment. This realistic set-up allowed crews to practise complex incident management in challenging conditions.
The joint exercise was hailed as a great success, strengthening collaboration between the services and highlighting the vital skills each brings to the community when responding to emergencies.
