- One requested the biodiversity grass area at Paradise Triangle be cut back and suggested seeking horticultural expertise for long-term pruning plans.
- One, representing the Harbour Rowing Club, attended to observe and offer background if needed.

Correspondence
- A £500 donation to Cornwall Air Ambulance was approved.
- The Council will accept an invitation to meet with Cornwall Council planning officers to discuss policy and ask questions.
Reports
- Cornwall Councillor Mark Burnett: Two consultations underway: rights of way and fire service. Review of Cornwall Council farms is ongoing.
- Chairman: Football field gates have been repaired.
- Clerk: Registers of interest are online. Reminded councillors of the impending copper switch-off and noted a pay award for 2025/26 is now included in this month’s salary.
Meeting Items
- Car Park – Toilets: Cllr Smith proposed and council approved a £1,500 grant to Boscastle CIC to aid toilet operations. Cllrs Yates, Edwards, and Hockin were granted dispensations to speak, with only Cllr Hockin and Edwards voting. Cllr Yates abstained.
- Highways: B3266 resurfacing is scheduled for 29th September 2025, expected to last 10 days.
- Civil Emergency and Contingency: BT phone box reported as out of order. Working group has drafted a core policy document with incident-specific appendices. Council will write to Village Hall and Community Centre trustees for permission to list these as community emergency assets.
- Website & Communications: Push notifications are now active (Apple devices pending). QR code added to agendas. Notifications will be used sparingly for urgent updates like meetings and road closures.
- Camelford By-Pass: Council supports collaboration with other town/parish councils. Camelford Town Council is seeking alternative quotes to salvage the original bypass plan.
- Play Area: Monthly inspection: all satisfactory. Rocker repaired, awaiting refitting. Proposal to hold open event for children and parents to gather ideas for replacing the junior multi-play tower.
- Castle Site: Interpretation board timber supports to be checked due to splitting. Quote accepted to relocate the concrete picnic table to Paradise Triangle using Parish Council account for supplies. Bin ¾ full – Cllr Costello to speak with contractor.
- Community Champion Award: Open for nominations. Council will develop a digital nomination form.
- Works Around the Village (Paradise Triangle): Informational signs will be displayed for residents. Biodiversity area will be cut back to normal length.
- Playing Field – Dog Fouling: No major issues reported at this time.
- Council Documentation Review: Document retention policy updated in line with Cornwall Archive guidance.
- Boscastle & Crackington Gig Club CIO: Concerns raised about sustainability and governance, including possible asset loss to the community. Council agreed to write to the CIO Trustees requesting a copy of the governing document, a written update on the club’s status and plans and attendance at a future meeting or a written statement.
- Community Centre: Funding application progressing.
- Geothermal Planning (PA23/10067): Scheduled for Strategic Planning Committee on 25th September 2025.
