Boscastle is set to sparkle once again this festive season as the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On returns on Friday 5th December 2025, proudly organised by Boscastle CIC and supported by the Boscastle Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Harbour Rowing Club.
Shops will stay open until 6pm, giving everyone a chance to browse for Christmas gifts and enjoy the village at its festive best before the lights are switched on at 6:30pm. Join the Boscastle Buoys who gather the crowd from 6pm – please do donate to their bucket where proceeds go to Cornwall Hospice Southwest. After the countdown, carols and songs will be led by the school children so please grab a song sheet or download and print at home and join in.
Shop local bingo is back! Collect your bingo card and visit participating shops to complete actions and earn festive stamps. Complete a BINGO line to claim a free mince pie and drink at Cornish Stores, or go for a BLACKOUT by completing all squares to be entered into the prize draw – with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses.
Free shuttlebus service will run from 4:30pm, 5pm, and 5:30pm, starting at the Doctors’ Surgery and stopping at Green Lane, Pentargon, Trefleur Close, and Langfords Meadow. The return bus will leave from the car park at 7pm.
The evening promises to bring the village together in true Boscastle style – full of warmth, lights, and local spirit.
