Boscastle Coastguard Rescue Team is currently looking for new volunteers to join their ranks as Coastguard Rescue Officers.
HM Coastguard forms part of the UK’s 999 emergency services, responding to incidents along our coastline and at sea. The Coastguard Rescue Service is made up of dedicated volunteers who assist with a wide range of call-outs — including mud, cliff and water rescues, as well as searches for missing persons.
While the role is voluntary and unpaid, volunteers can claim a small allowance for time and expenses. More importantly, it offers the chance to play a vital role in keeping our community and coastline safe.
Being a Coastguard Rescue Officer is both challenging and rewarding. It requires commitment, teamwork and a willingness to respond when needed — but it also provides valuable training, strong camaraderie and the opportunity to make a genuine difference.
The Boscastle team operates within Area 12 and is part of a wider network of emergency responders across Cornwall.
