A rare and exciting flypast may be visible over Boscastle this Wednesday Thursday morning, as part of the Spitfire 90th anniversary commemorative tour.
The flight forms part of a 90th anniversary commemorative tour celebrating the iconic aircraft, organised by the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The tour marks nine decades since the first flight of the original prototype, K5054, and is visiting locations around the UK with strong aviation and coastal links.
The aircraft is scheduled to depart MOD St Athan at 10:00am, with a total flight time of approximately 1 hour 5 minutes, heading for RAF St Mawgan. Based on this route, the Spitfire is expected to pass along the North Cornwall coastline — including the Boscastle area — towards the latter part of the flight.
