A glorious sunny day (but not too hot!) saw Mowesi Marshgate members chatting, drinking cocktails and eating yummy summer food…..yet the day was tinged with sadness. Our wonderful President Liz (shown far left) will be leaving us later this year and moving to Surrey.
It has been our custom for many years now to have a garden party for our July meeting in the President’s beautiful gardens. The event is held mostly for fun but partly to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now, a charity we have supported for several years. A raffle was held, and there were plants to buy and a sales table, and over £60 was collected.
And those who had planned ahead got their hubbies to run a “designated driver” bus to take them home after those gin fizzes!
